On a scorching morning at Penwortham Priory, AFC Bamber secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Athletico Preston in an 11am kick-off. Despite the challenging heat, both teams delivered an exciting and competitive match.

AFC Bamber, experimenting with a new formation, executed their game plan to perfection. Tom Cornwell opened the scoring, followed by a goal from Sid confidently converting a penalty in the second half finishing with a goal from JT.

Athletico Preston fought back with two goals of their own, keeping the contest intense until the final whistle. However, Bamber’s defense held firm, thanks in part to debutant goalkeeper Dan Livesey, who made several crucial saves as well as our usual No.1 Keeper Ryan. The new formation proved effective, with the players adapting seamlessly and displaying impressive teamwork.
