AFC Bamber faced a tough opener to the season, going down 2-3 against a resilient FC Friargate side in a thrilling encounter.
The first half saw both teams battling hard, but it was FC Friargate who broke the deadlock, heading into halftime with a 0-1 lead. AFC Bamber showed great determination after the break, with Oscar finding the back of the net to equalize at 1-1 shortly after the restart.
However, FC Friargate responded quickly and decisively, capitalizing on their chances to extend their lead to 1-3. Despite the setback, AFC Bamber refused to back down. Right-back Harry Chapman surged forward to pull one back, making it 2-3, and setting up a tense final phase of the game.
Unfortunately, despite a valiant effort and an impressive performance from all the lads, AFC Bamber couldn’t find the crucial equalizer. The match ended in a narrow defeat, but the team can hold their heads high after giving everything on the pitch.
It wasn’t the result AFC Bamber wanted to start the season, but the spirited display promises much for the games ahead.

Both lads put in an amazing performance. Oscar was strong in the middle, so strong that he almost got a yellow, nevertheless amazing effort with an amazing goal
